This week rocked. I started loads of new art. The contest that Natalie Santano and I are hosting really got me thinking about life and because of this I created some cool art inspired by something that I am VERY grateful for. ART. I am totally grateful for art. It makes me happy. It triggers something inside me that nothing else can. It makes me smile. It makes my heart ache. It inspires me. It acts as therapy. It does things to me that I can't even really describe. Thank you universe for bringing ART onto the planet. The world is truly a better place because of it.

Here is a wonderful story that has inspired me to complete at least one random act of kindness today. I am going camping and I think on the way, when we stop for a break, I'll do something nice for someone...
Thank you Anonymous. What a great story! Someone else shared with me that they were in the Dairy Queen drive through a while back and when they got to the drive through window they were told that the person ahead of them paid for their meal. So, they then paid for the car behind them and hoped that the cycle continued. Things like this absolutely make me smile.

Now that I'm in the mood for Valentine's Day, I thought I'd put this one up for sale in hopes that someone would buy it for their Valentine Sweetheart. I had actually taken it home to keep for myself because I really love it, but I have too much art in my house so I figured I should stop being so selfish and spread the LOVE.

Side-note: After I created this painting, Grady phoned me at work and told me that one of his clients was wearing a lulu lemon hoodie with the words "Love is the new Black" printed on it. He was wondering if that's where I got the idea and NO, it's not! I so thought I was being original and clever with this wording. Oh well, good for lulu lemon for capitalizing on my great idea. Ha.

Kienna's Acting Debut & Art For Sale

OH MAN. This week was insane. It went by so fast I can't even believe it's over already.

My ten year old daughter made her acting debut in the community production of Aladdin. Somehow my little love bug scored a leading role as the Villon's sidekick and she did amazing. She was nervous as heck before it started but once she was up on the stage, she totally pulled it off. I was so totally proud of the little bugger. Great job Kienna!

I have major guilt about not blogging this week and not following through on some of the promises I made earlier in the week. I just have way too much on my plate right now with Aladdin... and crazy busy-ness at work... and Christmas Gala's and Silent Auctions to organize... and 32 centerpieces to make. More on all of that next week.

The Craft Fair a Success!

Phewh! I'm exhausted. But, the craft fair was awesome and totally worth all the hard work. I sold more than half of my small originals, a larger original, and I got a really great feel for what people like and want. I also got a ton of commissioned work out of it. Plus, a lot of questions about teaching adult classes.... hmmm... maaaaybe.

Here's what my booth looked like...

It seemed to really make an impact and I got a lot of positive feedback about it. Thanks again Colin for making the boards! They looked great. And thanks Warren for suggesting the lights, they really did make a huge difference. This photo of course does not do my display justice.

If you couldn't attend the craft fair because you were in the states shopping for Black Friday, stop by Imagine Ink and check out what I have left for originals. I also have prints available in limited edition runs of 5.

Coming this week... lots of original art to sell so watch for it. Also, if you've seen something you like but it already sold, let me know and perhaps I can make you something similar. As for Art Classes for Kids discounted Gift Certificates... sorry, SOLD OUT. But, you can still buy the little artist in your life a gift certificate for classes, just not at a discounted price. Love With Purpose

You can imagine all the fun I've been having creating all this art. I've been on a roll.... and it was hard to stop but I finally came to the point where I had to because there's so much more to get done for Saturday like.... making price signs, building (thanks Colin!) and painting displays, figuring out how to display everything so it doesn't look like a bad garage sale, and printing calendars and limited edition prints! And even though I'm in high production and STRESS mode, I absolutely THRIVE off this kind of stuff and I'm enjoying every minute of it.
