I don't care what anyone says, Valentine's Day deserves a little extra special effort. Wouldn't it be fun to make your own Valentine's Day Cards this year?

Brandy Dyer will guide you during this one day (two hour class), giving you a chance to explore all mediums and create 30 homemade Valentine's Day cards to give to your friends and family. These beautiful tiny pieces of art will measure 2.5"x3.5"  which means that if you have some left over, you can keep these and start your own collection of Artist Trading Cards. Sign up today!

PRINTING MAKING - Kids and Teens

Creative Fix has a new obsession. Gelli Plates. Oh my goodness.... soooo much fun. What is a gelli plate? Well, kind of exactly how it sounds.... an 8x10 gelli-like surface that is used to makes prints. You start by spreading paint on the gelli plate and then make impressions onto paper. To create texture in the paint you can use stencils, paint brushers, brayers, texturing tools and other strange objects. You then press your paper onto the plate and voila, you've made a print! Once it's dry, you do another layer, and even another layer, until you're left with a beautiful piece of art. The technique is amazing and goes hand in hand with art journaling and card making. Trust us, the students will LOVE this! They will go home at the end of the three weeks with their own gelli plate and brayer, and a whole pile of new skills and techniques in which they can carry on with at home.

The students will learn how to create and keep an art journal. Art journaling is a huge fad that has caught on globally. An art journal can be a record of your daily thoughts, a travel journal, a memory diary, a dream journal, a place where you jot down your goals or to-do lists, or... well, almost any record that you'd like to keep in a book or notebook. What makes it an "art journal" is when you add any kind of illustration or embellishment to the pages. Students will be instructed by Brandy Hunt in this three week course, using all sorts of different mediums in their art journal. Art journaling is a valuable skill that the students can carry on with, month to month in an on-going classes, or at home.

$52 plus $30 art journal (student will keep) plus tax If they already own an art journal they do not pay the journal fee. All other supplies are included.

Artist Trading Card Club - Ages 8-13

Artist trading cards (or ATCs) are miniature works of art that are traded all over the world. There are no rules in producing these miniature works of art other than they MUST measure 3.5x2.5 inches. They are small enough to fit inside standard card-collector pockets, sleeves or sheets making them an excellent thing to collect and showcase to friends and family. Instructor Brandy Dyer will guide the students in this three week course in making their own collection of ATCs in various media, including dry media (pencils, pens, markers, etc.), wet media (watercolor, acrylic paints, etc.), paper media (in the form of collage, papercuts, found objects, etc.) The cards are meant to be traded or exchanged, so at the end of the month, we will get together with the other class, and the students will have an hour to trade and exchange cards with the other students.

$52 plus tax which includes all supplies

After taking a year or so off from it, I'm finally getting back to teaching Art Classes for Kids and I'm super stoked about it too! I will be starting classes next week.
