Course Description:
If you are an aspiring photographer, new to DSLR cameras or a beginner all together, this two day workshop is designed for you. The workshop covers many topics which include:
- DSLR care
- Getting acquainted with the essential controls and menus of your DSLR
- Understanding the camera's automatic settings, when and why to use them
- How to set up your camera for shooting
- Understanding how to take full control of exposure
- The creative effect of shutter speed and aperture
- Controlling Depth of Field
- How to affectively control ISO to reduce noise and exposure
- Overview of Semi-automatic modes; Program mode, Shutter and Aperture Priority Modes
- How focus works - Advanced focusing techniques

About the Instructor
Jeff Banman has been professionally taking photos in the Kootenays for the past five years. If it is the beautiful landscapes of the Creston Valley or the wonderful people that live here, Jeff is photographing them. Jeff has been the official photographer for groups such as TSN/Kraft Canada, Columbia Basin Trust, and the Creston Valley Thunder Cats. His ten years of teaching experience at the local high school, combined with his love of photography, qualifies him to instruct this workshop.
