My kids have been hounding me (no pun intended) for a couple of years to get a dog. I keep telling them that a dog would not fit with our busy schedule and I manage to talk them out of it by explaining how much work it would be and how it wouldn't be fair to the dog to be alone all the time and blah, blah, blah.
Part of me wants to say yes to the dog and part of me wants to say are you fricking nuts?! I have nothing against dogs, other than that fact that they need a lot of attention and they are not the best fit for our lives (at this time). Period.
Anyway... so Kienna (my ten year old) was at my shop a few weeks ago and she was keeping busy while I was working. I sort of wondered in my mind what she was up to because she's usually never quiet, but I was too busy to check it out. She announced that she was finished her project (that I didn't even know she was working on) and that she needed my undivided attention for a few moments.
She then proceeded to hold up a series of signs infront of her face. As I read each sign, she would put it down and I'd read the next one, etc. Like a slideshow. Honestly, I wish I had it on camera because not only did what she write, break my heart just a little, her big-brown-puppy-dog-eyes nearly made me cry...
After she was done I was reminded of the article I read last week that said, "Say yes to buying your kids a dog at least once in their childhood". And then, I saw this video (which is AWESOME).... and to be honest... I'm feeling like the universe is secretly trying to pursuad me!
Anyone got any DOG advice for me?
