I've been talking about the BIG NEWS for a while now and because I live in a small town, it seems like the whole town is talking about it. It's awesome. There's a real buzz happening. I had someone come into my shop yesterday to ask if I was pregnant. Ha ha. No, I'm not pregnant! There has been times in the past few weeks in which I could compare the pain of the renovation to that of giving birth though. Ha ha. Lots of hard work and very tough of my bank account. Ouch. Here is what the front of my shop looks like at the moment. There use to be walls but as you can see, it's now a big open space. After the demo is done there will be a cosmetic face lift as well and it's going to be absolutely gorgeous.
Imagine Ink is up and running in the back of the building and is carrying on business like nothing is happening but meanwhile, there are drills and sanders and lots and lots of ruckus going on in the front of the building to prepare for the Grand Opening of... drum roll please....
What does the name Creative Fix stand for? Well, it's going to be a place where you can get your shopping fix, your art class fix, or your coffee fix. And seriously, it's going to be one of the coolest places in town!
The whole concept was birthed from my love for art. Because we live in a small town, the artists here are very limited on where they can show their art. So, I felt the need to create my own space to do that. I was already doing that on a small scale in Imagine Ink, but I needed waaaay more space... which is where knocking out walls comes in.
Because we've moved Imagine Ink to the back of the building, this opens up a whole lot of wonderful space in the front. Not only do I have the space to showcase my own art, I also have the space to showcase a whole lot of other stuff too. Creative Fix will sell all sorts of cool stuff including art, women's handbags, jewelry, beautiful baby gifts, unique kids' stuff, and totally funky home decor. Not only will you want to shop for yourself, you'll also be able to buy gifts for everyone in your life. We'll even have some neat stuff for that man in your life. Seriously, you won't be able to get out of Creative Fix without picking up something cool. I've already got all my inventory and it's just waiting for the space to get finished.
Another part to Creative Fix is the coffee bar. I am in the midst of picking my bean and ordering my espresso machine and equipment right now but it's going to be awesome. Remember that trip to New York that I went on a few weeks ago? Well, Grady and I were both trained there at the Coffee Fest to be coffee Baristas. We were also trained to make coffee art. If you don't know what that is, google it. Soooo cool. I've always wanted a coffee shop and I am so terribly excited about having AWESOME coffee. Eeeks... I can hardly wait.
The third part to the shop is of course the Art Classes. Right now my Art Classes for Kids has really taken off so I'm hoping that eventually I can branch out a bit and offer some adult classes as well. I will have to see how everything goes but that's for down the road.
Anyway... lots of exciting things happening around here to prepare for the Grand Opening of Creative Fix. My ultimate goal is to create a great space to hang out, meet friends, shop around, drink amazing coffee and learn. The courtyard out front is getting a face lift as well so it will be an awesome space to have an espresso with a friend or quietly read a book.
If everything goes along with no hiccups, I should be open for business early May but I'll keep everyone posted here at Brandyink. I will also be sharing photos of some of the unique products that I'll be carrying so watch for that as well.
I welcome your comments and feedback. Have a great weekend and if you live in Creston, be sure to spread the word about the epic new store opening soon!!
